JCB seniors awarded Dollars for Scholars scholarships
The annual John C. Birdlebough High School Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Night recently celebrated the academic achievements and community contributions of graduating seniors.
Nearly $64,000 in scholarships were awarded throughout the evening, reflecting the community's strong commitment to education and youth development. The Phoenix chapter of DFS aims to support local students in their pursuit of higher education by providing scholarships funded by community donations.
“I would like to say thank you to those providing the financial support for these scholarships as well as thank you to those who presented the awards,” Principal Thomas Bailer said, giving a special shoutout to chapter President Wendy Dunnigan and event organizers.
Thirty students were presented with scholarships during the ceremony, including Owen Champion, Alaina Sutter, Luke Zellar, Caedance Myer, Landon Crandall, Margo Pritting, Arlin Russo, Kai Clary, Chloe Thomas, Gabbriella Runge, Lincoln Kersey, Kaylen Lamphere, Nathaniel Quaco, Van Brown, Madison Quaco, Madalyn Carter, Marra DiGiovanni, Sara Reutsch, Savannah Felix, Lillian MacDonald, Carielys Calderon, Caitlin Dean, Ava Kuropatwinski, Macray Pelton, Charles Quaco, Cameron Kreis, Gabriella Dates, Chloe Paoletti, John George and Leyana Monette.
Bailer concluded the ceremony by addressing the scholarship recipients and lauding them for their accomplishments.
"Be proud of who you are and be proud of your Firebird heritage — we are certainly proud of you, and we wish you all the success in your bright futures," Bailer said.
