Three Phoenix students earn Presidential Volunteer Service recognition

The Phoenix Central School District recently recognized three students during the Presidential Volunteer Awards ceremony for their selfless actions and contributions to their community.
Among those honored were Abigail Felix, who earned the Bronze Presidential Youth Service Award for dedicating 300 hours of service to her community, and Youth of the Year Award recipients Miley Esposito (775 hours), and Juan Gonzalez (more than 1,000 hours).
The awards celebrate students who go above and beyond in serving others, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and a strong sense of civic duty. Each of these students has not only contributed significantly to local initiatives and organizations but has also played a vital role in shaping a positive and engaged school culture.
"I appreciate your positive contributions to the JCB school community, to your classrooms, and to the clubs and activities in which you participate,” Principal Thomas Bailer said. “In the four years we have been together, you have made it clear that you are not only top-notch students, but also top-notch young adults who took advantage of opportunities to serve beyond the classroom."
