Community donations roll in for successful Stuff-a-Bus campaign
Nearly 200 families in the Phoenix Central School District started the school year off with essential supplies, thanks to the annual Stuff-a-Bus campaign.
The initiative, sponsored by the United Way of Greater Oswego County, rallies the community and collects donations of school supplies for distribution to those in need. This year, thousands of notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, folders, and other items were collected and given out to students countywide. In Phoenix, additional items such as clothing and backpacks were also available during the supply giveaway.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who makes this event such a success year after year,” said PCSD employee Marla Leitner, who spearheads the distribution effort for Phoenix schools. “Stuff-a-Bus helps lighten the burden for so many of our families, and it is amazing to see this community come together for a wonderful cause.”
