A Message from the Superintendent

The Phoenix Central School District provides endless opportunities for our students to learn and grow. From intensive academic programs to music, arts, athletics and everything in between, the district truly offers an ideal educational environment.

Classrooms are equipped with the teachers, technology and tools needed for our students to thrive in an ever-changing world. We offer a rigorous academic program that is infused with the Common Core New York State Standards and are proud to have maintained low class sizes at each school building. At the high school, students can get a jumpstart on their future by enrolling in one of the many college-level courses that are offered.

In addition to the core subjects, the music program is another area in which the PCSD continually excels. The district has been ranked as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for six consecutive years! Our comprehensive K-12 music program includes performance bands, symphonic, wind and percussion ensembles, jazz band, marching band, parade band, chorus, chamber singers and drumline.

For students who are interested in participating on a sports team, there are plenty of options as well – from the modified level through the varsity level. We are very proud of our student-athletes and their achievements both on and off the field. Our student-athletes have won state titles, sectional championships and other accolades throughout the years.

The community is at the center of all our students’ accomplishments. School district activities and events serve as a source of pride and unity in the PCSD. We value our surrounding communities and are proud of the active volunteerism role that our students, at every grade level, take in our communities. Each year, students complete hundreds of hours of volunteer service for local organizations, agencies and nonprofit groups.

Our students use these opportunities to reach their fullest potential. They receive a well-rounded education that is made possible by our excellent board of education, dedicated administrative team, committed faculty and staff, great parents, and a tight-knit community.

If you have any questions about the Phoenix Central School District, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Yours in Education,

Christopher J. Byrne
