Important Update Regarding NYS ELA Assessments

Dear Phoenix Central School District Families,

This morning, our district and others across the state experienced a state-wide technical issue that affected the administration of the computer-based New York State ELA Assessment Exams. As a result, we were directed to halt testing for today.

NYSED has since informed us that they have worked with the CBT testing vendor and have received assurance that the technical issue has been resolved and that the testing platform is now fully operational.

We understand this unexpected disruption may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility. 

The updated ELA Assessment schedule for our district is as follows:

• Grades 3-4: ELA Session 1 will now begin on Wednesday, April 9th.
• Grades 5-8: ELA Session 2 will start on Wednesday, April 9th.

For students in grades 5-8 who experienced technical difficulties or could not complete ELA Session 1 today, we will provide opportunities for them to make up this session following Session 2 or later in the week.
