To the Firebird community,
It is with great excitement and anticipation for the 2017-18 school year that I begin my second year as the principal of J. C. Birdlebough High School! Year one was filled with all of the excitement that a new job has to offer: meeting new people, taking on new challenges and thinking about ways to improve what we do for students.
Our Firebird students showed their fire throughout the 2016-17 school year, demonstrating excellence in the classroom, on the athletic fields and in the performing arts. There were high levels of academic success, including achievement on assessments, scholarship awards and college acceptances, to name just a few. There were high levels of success at all levels of performance, including individual records, league titles, county participation, sectional appearances and stage productions, among others. Commendations also go to our staff, who are dedicated to the success of our students!
To the students of JCB, the start of every new school year is your opportunity to reconsider what really ignites you, to dream about the possibilities that exist in your future, and to set goals for your path to success. We encourage you to get involved in the life of your school, engage in healthy activities (athletics, clubs, organizations, etc.) that build relationships, enhance skills and give you a sense of pride. 2017-18 is going to be a great year and I look forward to walking with you on this journey!
